ABOUT

WORKING TOWARDS SETTING UP CIC
BELOW IS DRAFT
MISSION AND GOVERNANCE STATEMENT

WAYFARER ARTS CIC (company number: nnnnnnn) is our not-for-profit organisation that enables us to seek funding to undertake our own community focused projects (as opposed to client fee-for-service work).  Our Community Interest Statement is as follows:

The company’s activities will provide benefits to local communities via its creative activities and projects. In particular the company will benefit communities by:

  • Providing activities for a creative journey;
  • Bring people together for creative projects;
  • Encouraging and supporting empowerment with participant led projects;
  • Encouraging skills exchange;
  • Including promoting local heritage and social history with site-specific projects;
  • Supporting people at risk of social isolation and loneliness;
  • Providing activities that support positive mental health and well-being;
  • Encouraging people in local communities to engage and connect with each other through activities.

Activities:

  • To bring creativity to the Wayfarers Arcade;
  • To identify and obtain equipment - creative assets - that can be used in creative workshops;
  • To share skills and experiences;
  • To create and deliver creative projects focused on themes of community interest and benefit;
  • To leverage and promote creativity for the enjoyment of local community engagement, advocacy and tourism;
  • To grow an archive of assets (worksheets, equipment) that can be used to support and inspire creativity

How will the activity benefit the community?

  • Promote positive mental health, well-being and self-worth;
  • Engage with people at risk of isolation and loneliness;
  • Create inclusive opportunities for inter-generational activities and positive family connections;
  • Support the use of technology, particularly with older people;
  • Encourage learning and understanding about creativity and its benefits;
  • Provide opportunities to promote a sense of place and support local tourism;

If the company makes any surplus it will be used for…
Reinvesting into further creative projects and preserving equipment assets aligned to the objectives of the organisation.
